Our Writer
Roger Vizi spent two years working at a small-engine repair facility tuning and maintaining lawn mowers and snow blowers, primarily Briggs and Stratton. He also owned and operated a lawn maintenance company for many years and performed all of the repairs on his equipment. He has four years of experience operating and repairing high-pressure steam power plants and more than 15 years of experience maintaining and repairing home heating systems. He is also the author of the book Forced Hot Air Furnaces
and is working on a book on high-efficiency HVAC units for McGraw Hill. As a homeowner, he has repaired and maintained his own personal equipment to keep it in top operating condition.
He explains equipment maintenance and repair so thoroughly and understandably that his book has garnered these reviews at Amazon.com:
After being told by a so-called professional that my Furnace was basically shot and that it would take upwards of $550 to fix it or I could buy a new one for $700 ... I decided to do some research on my own. I found this book and it was a god send. It detailed exactly what was wrong with my furnace and how-to fix it. I fixed my furnace for the price of the book and an $80 part. (Richard Vincent from Detroit, Michigan)
I own an older gas heating system with a standing pilot and I was having a problem keeping it lit. This book gave me all of the information I needed to fix the problem, and the ability to tune my heating system up so this doesn't happen again....
I feel the author did an excellent job hitting the high spots on each type of heating system ... For my money, this is a great book. (Robert Daniels from Fort Lewis, Washington)Roger also writes fiction. You can learn about all of his work at his Web site: www.authorsden.com/rogersvizi.
